Ever wonder why your taxes have continued going up, even though your house isn't worth what it was several years ago?
I don't. I know exactly why my taxes have gone up. The General Assembly, in Springfield, made the decision to increase my taxes. And you can read some of my older posts if you'd like to know more about this...
In the meanwhile, I've appealed my taxes in a package dated, October 27, 2010.
But there's a twist...
I'm not hiring a politically-connected lawyer, or making a campaign donation to the departing Cook County Board of Review Commissioners, Joseph Berrios and Brendan Houlihan, or current Commissioner, Larry Rogers, Jr.
Instead, I'm relying on research alone...
And we will all find out, together, how impossible it is to get one's taxes lowered; in a system where assessments mean everything to the bureaucrats, and almost nothing to homeowners.
